WHO

Men ready to repair

For men confronting deceptive sexuality and its impact on their wives and relationships.

INTENSIVE DETAILS

Breaking patterns. Building integrity.

SHIFT is a structured, in-person clinical intensive for men who are ready to face deceptive sexuality, understand the harm it has caused and begin a different way of living.

If these dates do not work, AFI runs the intensive throughout the year. A consultation call can place you in line for a future session.

THERE IS HOPE

Three days with a clear purpose

Each day addresses a different part of the change process using the Deceptive Sexuality and Trauma framework.

Day 01

The Hidden Sexual Basement

Learning integrity and accountability.

Day 02

Her Voice

Building empathy and compassion.

Day 03

Stabilization

Reducing harm and establishing a safer way forward.

AN INVITATION FROM HER VOICE

Her healing belongs inside the work.

Jeni Steele offers the perspective of a clinician who understands and treats the pain of the hurt spouse. Her invitation asks men to listen closely and make a meaningful shift in their effort to repair.

If you are the wife who found this page: this intensive is for him, but the healing concerns both of you. Your experience, questions and need for safety are not left outside the process.

THE DST MODEL

A framework for the work that actually needs to happen

The Deceptive Sexuality and Trauma Model, developed by Dr. Omar Minwalla through more than two decades of clinical work, addresses both compulsive sexual behavior and the surrounding patterns of deception, integrity violation, gaslighting and relational harm.

01

It names the hidden injuries

The model takes seriously what happens to a partner who has unknowingly lived inside a concealed reality. That experience has a clinical name: Deceptive Sexuality Trauma.

02

It gives the trauma a shape

The experience has identifiable phases and injuries. Seeing them clearly creates a foundation for accountability, stabilization and repair.

How AFI uses the model

Training grounded in direct mentorship

AFI’s team has trained directly with Dr. Minwalla through continuing clinical mentorship and supervision. That preparation shapes the team’s daily work.

Reconciliation without reality can become another wound, so the work begins with clear seeing on both sides.

Everyone involved deserves dignity and access to a safe space for healing, integrity and change.

The marriage and its repair are treated as a third entity that also needs safety and healing.

WHAT THREE DAYS LOOK LIKE

Deliberate, structured clinical work

This is not a conference. It is a small group of men working in one room through clinical education and experiential integration. Everyone is treated with dignity, and the body is included in the work—not only the mind.

The two-system disorder: what lies underneath deceptive sexuality, beyond the behavior itself.

The iceberg: the visible behavior and the much larger reality beneath it.

The three phases: covert harm, exposure and the long aftermath a partner may experience.

The four critical injuries: the major wounds deceptive sexuality can create in the person a man loves.

Mountain Work: sitting with the full view of the harm—not to be destroyed by it, but to metabolize it and allow it to change you.

A personal theory of change: written and spoken aloud before the group closes.

“I have never been told the truth about myself this clearly, and I am not afraid of it anymore.”

THREE-DAY INTENSIVE COST

Begin with a confidential conversation.

$4,500

A consultation is a private inquiry—not a commitment. AFI will talk with you confidentially to determine whether SHIFT is the right fit for you and your marriage.

WHY SHIFT IS DIFFERENT

Healing that includes everyone harmed

Select each statement to learn more.

SHIFT helps heal all who have been harmed.

Dignity matters for people who were harmed, those who caused harm and children who may have become collateral damage. The work seeks healing for the whole system.

SHIFT uses the Minwalla Model in an in-person intensive.

The SHIFT team has been personally trained by Dr. Omar Minwalla and brings that framework into direct, face-to-face clinical work.

SHIFT is educational and emotionally moving.

The program combines clear clinical education with carefully guided emotional and experiential work, creating room for healing and meaningful change.
