Couples Therapy

Betrayal Trauma

Intensive Couples Therapy

Marriage counseling, also called couples therapy, is a type of psychotherapy. Marriage counseling helps couples of all types recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships. Through marriage counseling, you can make thoughtful decisions about rebuilding your relationship or going your separate ways.   Betrayal trauma occurs when someone who we depend on and are significantly attached to – a spouse, parent, lover, or friend – betrays our trust and lets us down in a critical way. When this trust is violated is creates deep insecurity, fear and uncertainty in the relationship.  Trust can be rebuilt through a process of empathy and accountability.   Intensive couples therapy at the Arizona Family Institute, is an opportunity to receive, one, two or three day intensive therapy activities.  The intensive model includes a therapeutic team approach that allows for multiple therapist and allows a couple to to make therapeutic gains in a very short timeframe.
